A HELENSBURGH businessman’s plans to open up an indoor street food market have run into opposition from people living near the site.

James Steel has submitted plans seeking permission for a “change of use” for one of the units at Gavinburn Business Park, on Dumbarton Road in Old Kilpatrick.

Mr Steel is proposing a contact-free drive-through, takeaway, home-delivery and live music venue in part of the building, which was used as a bus depot until the late 1990s.

He previously set up Cube Life, described as “an alternative performance and events space” in East Clyde Street in Helensburgh.
